He said it could be worse,.,, Is the governor right?
"It is clear that we did not sustain the catastrophic damage that we thought based on forecast from last night, but we have sustained a tremendous amount of damage."

Damage in Sulphur La.
Governor Edwards said in a press briefing regarding Hurricane Laura.
"We lot of work to do," "But, we are in better shape today than what might have been the case. We have a lot to be thankful for.”

"This was the most powerful storm to ever make landfall in Louisiana,"
John Bel Edwards
The Most Powerful Storm:
Laura caused extreme wind damage yet was predicted by weathermen you be exponentially worse. On top of the already predicted 150mph wind damage that tore through the state earlier in the week, the one thing that would’ve finished the state, would be the 20 ft. storm surge that we fortunately didn’t get. Areas inland off of the calcasieu river that were -1.0 received approximatrly 4-11 ft of flooding.
Had flooding occurred as expected, any home that was not wind damaged, would’ve likely been flood damaged. Edwards was indeed right, though it’s a hard pill to swallow, especially with Edwards baby-birding it into our mouths during a time when the last helpful thing to say is, “It could be worse”. That’s just politic.
